Dr. Phillips High School Dress Code

  • All tops for males and females must have sleeves: NO Tank tops, spaghetti straps, strapless tops allowed unless a jacket/sweater is worn with the top.
  • NO holes/slits of any size showing skin in any style pants/shorts/leggings are allowed above the knees.
  • HEAD Garments/Accessories/Attire etc... that cover the head and does not allow for hair, and/or face to be viewed are not allowed.  Head garments that are NOT allowed on campus include but are not limited to: hats, baseball hats, visors, head beanies, hoodies, bandanas wrapped around the forehead or covering the entire head, du-rags, wave caps, hair bonnets, shower caps, ski goggles, flag scarves, winter scarves meant to be worn around the neck, or any other head garment that is deemed unsafe by administration or can potentially cause a school disruption.
  • NO Headphones/Beats: The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Pants should be worn at the hips/waist.
  • Bare midriffs/stomachs and bare sides should not show even when arms are extended overhead.
  • NO half tops
  • Sheer clothing and slits in clothing are not acceptable.
  • Length of shorts, skirts & slits should be middle of the thigh.
  • Undergarments may not be exposed.
  • Any sports jersey (DPHS, College, Pro) must be worn with a sleeved shirt at all times.
  • Students must wear shoes. No shoes with cleats or bedroom slippers.
  • Clothing MUST NOT display inappropriate pictures, words or phrases. (Example: sex, drugs/alcohol, negative language, weapons)
  • Apparel intended to identify students as members of a gang or group are prohibited. (School-related groups, teams, and clubs may wear apparel approved by the school.)
