PRELIMINARY SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST/NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST PSAT

The PSAT is a multiple-choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. This test gives students the opportunity to qualify for such programs as the National Merit Achievement Scholarship and National Hispanic Awards. The PSAT also helps students assess their verbal and math skills, practice for the SAT, and predict possible SAT scores. The test is given once a year in October. Because of a partnership between the state of Florida and the College Board, all 10th graders will take the PSAT at no charge. There is a small fee for 9th and 11th graders to take this test. 11th grade students who take the test may be eligible for scholarship programs.
