At Dr. Phillips High School, we are committed to preparing every student for success beyond high school—whether that means college, career, or service. Below you’ll find the essential requirements to earn your high school diploma and walk across the stage with pride.

**Foreign Language is not required for graduation, but it is required for the Bright Futures Scholarship & admission into 4 year colleges / universities!

 

 

 

Additional Graduation Criteria

 

Passing State Assessments 

  • Reading (FAST)
    • Score a level 3 or higher as a Sophomore
    • Can earn concordant score after 10th grade year
  • End of Course Exam: Pass with a score level of 3 or higher and counts as 30% of final grade
    • Algebra 1
    • Biology
    • Geometry
    • US History

 

 

Completion of a Acceleration Credit

The State of Florida expects all high school students to graduate with at least one accelerated opportunity. We provide one opportunity per year for every student in grades 9-12.

 

What does Accelerated Opportunity mean?

  • Advanced Placement (AP) class (must pass the AP exam in order for the state to recognize as accelerated)
  • AICE class (must pass the AICE exam in order for the state to recognize as accelerated)
  • Dual Enrollment (DE) class (passed with C or better)
  • Successfully earned an Industry Certification (IC)

 

 

Community Service Hours (e.g., 40 hours minimum)

 

 

Postsecondary Readiness (college or career planning milestones)

  • Meet regularly with your school counselor
  • Use your student portal to track credits and progress
  • Attend grade-level meetings and college/career workshops

Grade Point Average (GPA)

Students must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher in order to graduate.
